Staff Reporter: Six persons were killed by the flash floods in Cox's Bazar.
Five of the six bodies were recovered in the last two days, but the body of one labourer Khalilur Rahman, 23, of Manikpur, could not be found.
The other diseased are Krishok League leader Badiur Rahman, 65, of Chakoria, labourer Jasim Uddin, 23, of Ukhia, Rehena Akhtar, 11, Shah Alam, 65, of Eidgaon and rickshaw puller Syed Alam, 31, of Sadar Upazila.
Upazila chairman Rezaul Karim said that 200,000 people from 50 villages of 12 Unions in Chakoria were affected by the flood.
Kutubdia Upazila chairman ATM Nurul Bashar said that 10,000 people from 40 villages of Kutubdia were also affected by flood as rising sea-water entered through 15 points of the island.
Cox's Bazar Sadar chairman Salim Ullah Bahadur claimed that water entered Eidgaon every year because there was no dam on the both sides of Eidgaon River. The sluice gate is damaged too, he said.
