Policeman shot dead by robbers

Staff Reporter: A police constable was shot dead by robbers in the early hours on Monday at Himchari in Cox's Bazar.
The victim was identified as Constable Sosam Chakma, 36, of Diginala under Khagrachara. He was posted at Ramu police station of the district and was working at Idgor police outpost.

Environment friendly plantation for Cox’s Bazar sea beach

Staff Reporter: The Cox's Bazar district administration has already been taken up a project to develop a plantation of coconut, date and fruit bearing trees along the sea beach to check land subsidence and promote an environment-friendly tourism industry.
The plantation would be grown in five rows along a stretch of 110-kilometre-long sea beach running from Nazirartek to Teknaf, officials said. The plantation would be grown in west side of existing Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf marine drive road, official further said.

Staff reporter: Renowned Jatishattar kobi (poet) Mohammad Nurul Huda's month long 60th birth anniversary concluded at Cox's Bazar with colorful program on October 30 last. Poet Huda's 60th birth anniversary was began from capital Dhaka on September 30 last. It was observed by Writers Club in Dhaka with presents of poets, writers, cultural activists and crowd's fans of poet.
