Staff reporter: A daylong workshop on `Digital Bangladesh and Good Governance' organized by Cox's Bazar district administration was at Cox's Bazar deputy commissioner's officer conference room this morning.
Mostafa Jabbar, president, Bangladesh Computer Somity was present in the workshop as keynote presenter while Giasuddin Ahmed, deputy commissioner, Cox's Bazar was on the chair.

Landslide kills 2 in Cox's Bazar

Staff reporter: Two people died in a landslide at Dhalirchara of Ramu upazila in Cox's Bazar at around 9am on Thursday.

The landslide occurred as the two were cutting a hill to build their house.

They are Shamsul Alam, 30, of Bara Dhalirchara of Rashidnagar Union and Saiful Islam, 27, of Dhalirchara Murapara area.

Faridul Alam, Rashidnagar chairman, said that Shamsul Alam, son of Shahab Mia of Bara Dhalirchara, decided to move out of his house after a quarrel with his father.

Bangladesh Announces First Small And Medium Enterprise Policy To Achieve Inclusive Growth

Siddique Islam, (AHN): The central bank of Bangladesh unveiled, for the first time, a small and medium enterprise (SME) credit policy and programs on Thursday targeted at achieving inclusive economic growth.
Bangladesh Bank (BB), the country’s central bank, Atiur Rahman announced the policy at a discussion with chief executive officers and managing directors of the commercial banks held at Seagul Hotel in Cox’s Bazar Thursday night with BB Deputy Governor Murshid Kuli Khan in the chair.

Press Club chief sued for 'Hasina slur'

National Press Club president Shawkat Mahmud has been asked to appear before court on April 28 in a defamation suit for alleged slurs against the prime minister.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Mehdi Hassan Talukder gave the order on Sunday. BDnews source said.

In the complaint filed by Awami Ainjibi Parishad's member PK Abdur Rob stated that Shawkat Mahmud, also a member of the BNP chairperson's advisory body, threatened to 'crush' the hands of prime minister Sheikh Hasina at a recent BNP meeting in Cox's Bazar.
